Ex-Militants Drag Amnesty Boss Paul Boroh To Court [details]

53 beneficiaries of the presidential amnesty programme have dragged the office of the coordinator of the presidential amnesty programme before the national industrial court of Nigeria sited in Yenogua over non-payment of monthly stipends over the period of one year.

The leader of the group, Mr Warmet Charles, claims that he and other beneficiaries of the programme were duly captured in the records of the amnesty programme granted by the late ex-President Musa Yaradua in 2009 during submission of arms in exchange for re-integration and subsequent training of beneficiaries, stating that the amnesty office under the command of Gen Paul Boroh all of a sudden stopped the payment of their stipends without any formal training nor explanation to that effect.

Mr warmet said he and others had no other choice than to seek redress from a competent court of law.
According to Politics NG, the senate committee had commenced an investigative hearing of an audit of finances of the Amnesty Office under the leadership of Paul Boroh.
