Obanikoro Arrives EFCC Office With His Lawyers

Former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, has surrendered himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) this afternoon. An EFCC source said the former minister arrived around 2pm in the company of his lawyers and some relatives.

Obanikoro is being investigated by the EFCC for allegedly giving the Governor Ayo Fayose the sum of N4.7billion for the June 21, 2014 governorship election on the instruction of former president Goodluck Jonathan. There are other allegations of money laundering linking his sons.

EFCC sources said investigators will confront Obanikoro with evidence(s).
