Saraki Loses Bid to Disqualify CCT's Justice Umar from Trial

The the motion filed by Senate President Bukola Saraki asking the Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Danladi Umar, to disqualify himself from his trial‎ has been dismissed.

The motion was dismissed on Wednesday. While dismissing the motion, Justice Umar said he cannot disqualify himself from the trial on the ground that without him, there can be no tribunal.

It is only Mr President and a two-third of the National Assembly that can remove him from office.
