I recently had the laundry moved from the basement to the second floor of our house. We had a small extra room the exact width of a set of machines, with a disused (but seemingly sound) drainpipe conveniently placed in the side wall. What luck!
The general work of running water and 240v was accomplished perfectly by the contractors, but things didn't work out with the century-old drain, which had to be replaced from top to bottom. Check out what was inside it!
